State to Ban Ice Racing
Every spring the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) sponsors a series of Wisconsin Conservation Congress Spring Meetings. These meetings are held in every county and allow for sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts to express opinions and concerns on contemporary conservation issues. The venues facilitate the DNR’s gathering of information then used in directing the actions of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. In short, this is a medium through which the public (you) can impact DNR policy.
Pay special attention to Question 65 and the impact this could/would have on motorized winter recreation.
65. Would you support legislation creating a maximum speed limit of 25 mph for all licensed motorized vehicles (car, trucks, etc.) traveling on frozen waters of the state unless on a designated state or club marked trail?
Please take an evening out to attend the meeting in your county (April 9th). Be certain that your voice is heard before it's too late!

CNNF Announces Spring ClosuresThe Annual Seasonal Closures are released each year to help limit the environmental impact to trails, roads & routes during the spring thaw. On March 5th the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest released their “Annual Spring Trail Closures Across Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (CNNF). See the attached announcement below.
This Announcement does not alter or void other restrictions, such as the Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM), which may have seasonal closures which are longer in duration than these.
WOHVA urges all trail users to check with the CNNF before riding anywhere in the Forest.
